STUDIO CLASSES 2024 - 2025

WHAT:
A Studio Class is a gathering of  a small group of students in an informal setting.  There are usually between 6 and 12 students in a class and they are most often grouped by age.  Parents can attend if they wish (as long as there is enough room!) but it is primarily designed for the students to play for each other.

A more traditional studio class is one that involves a student performing his or her piece, receiving instruction, and then really working on it in front of the other students.  (This is to help them improve their listening skills and their ability to learn from each other).  For my purposes, however, the classes are used primarily as an informal performance opportunity, and I normally keep my comments to a minimum.

One class each year is dedicated to ensemble (mostly duet) playing.  The others are held at times that will help students prepare for specific events.
